When the US Supreme Court struck down a provision of the Voting Rights Act known as Section 5, a national conversation about the status of voting rights took place. Power of Attorney weighed in on the discussion by hosting a forum between Louisiana congressmen Austin Badon and Kevin Pearson about the Voting Rights Act, whether Section 5 was still necessary, the ramifications of its being struck down, and whether voting laws need to be reformed in Louisiana and in the rest of the country.
