Desiree Charbonnet is a judge in New Orleans Municipal Court. She joins the show to explain the role of Municipal Court in New Orleans’ justice system.

Municipal Court handles traffic issues as well as small civil disputes and minor criminal offenses. It is a court of original jurisdiction for cases such as these, and plays an important role in the overall legal infrastructure within the city and state.

Judge Charbonnet describes her experiences as both a judge and a lawyer, and offers tips for people who have to make their way through Municipal Court.
